Sports anime series Spirited Away (スパイダー, Saptainu) has been renewed for season 3 with a new season premiere on January 15, 2019.
The new season will premiere in 2018.
Series creator Toru Yano (Black Butler) will return to pen the new season with his longtime collaborator Masaaki Yokoyama (Black Clover, Tokyo Mew Mew Mew).
The series will be directed by Tetsuya Nomura (Kanagi, Tokyo Ghoul:re), with scripts by Kazuya Nakamura (Kyoukai no Kanata, Koushin no Kyoukai), Tetsuwan Akimoto (Tokyo Ghoul, One Piece), and Atsushi Ono (Fate/Stay Night, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood).
The show will premiere on the BBC.
Series will be produced by the studio Tatsunoko Production (Tatsunomiya Productions, Nihon Falcom), which also produced the previously announced TV anime series Black Butler: The Movie.
Yano, who previously served as the chief animation director for the popular My Hero Academia, is best known for his works in the Fate/stay night series Black Clover and the original Black Butler.
He previously worked on the television anime series Yume Nikki.
Yono previously worked with director Takashi Shimizu on the live-action comedy drama My Hero Academy: I’ll Always Be Your Friend.
The director is also a producer on the TV anime film Tokyo Mew and a producer for the live action film Tokyo Ghouls.
The television anime aired on Tokyo MX from January 10 to December 30, 2018.
Yamada and Nakamura also collaborated on the film Tokyo Midnight Black (2009), the live film Tokyo Mouretsu!
(2008), and the television series Tokyo Mew.
Yoshikazu Hirata (Attack on Titan, Gurren Lagann) is directing the new series, and Tomohiro Miike (Attack On Titan, Tokyo Twilight) is handling the series composition.
Yomatsushi Yamamoto (Love Live!
School Idol Project, K-ON!!) is handling music.
Tetsuhiro Nakamura and Kazunori Yamashita are composing the music.
Masahiko Hasegawa (Hajime no Ippo, Yowamushi Pedal) is the music composer.
The series is credited for the music of “I’ve Got a Secret.”
The show is also based on a light novel series, Tokyo Mouretu!
A Lullaby of a Girl, written by Hidenori Ito.
The story follows a girl named Yumi who discovers she’s pregnant.
She goes on a mission to find a baby and a cure for her condition, and finds out she’s going to have to undergo a pregnancy test.
The girl must be given a name and undergo a procedure to give her the name, Yumi.
The light novel manga also inspired the television manga and anime.
